Beth Ulrich Appointed Editor of Nephrology Nursing Journal
PITMAN, NJ Beth Ulrich, EdD, RN, CHE, has been appointed the new Editor of Nephrology Nursing Journal, the official journal of the American Nephrology Nurses Association (ANNA), the ANNA Board of Directors has announced. Her appointment becomes effective June 1, 2002.
Dr. Ulrich becomes NNJs fourth editor in its 29-year history as she succeeds Sally D. McCulloch, MSN, RN, CNN. The Nephrology Nursing Journal is a refereed clinical and scientific resource that provides current information on a wide variety of subjects to facilitate the practice of professional nephrology nursing.
Dr. Ulrich has proven editorial expertise in nursing publications and is highly qualified and eager to take on this prominent role within the nephrology nursing community. She is currently a Regional Vice President and Editor of NurseWeek, a biweekly magazine with a national circulation of over 1.2 million registered nurses. Prior to joining NurseWeek, she served as the Deputy Executive Director (COO) of the Mental Health & Mental Retardation Authority (MHMRA) of Harris County, Texas, the largest mental health and mental retardation authority in the United States.
Beth has extensive senior executive experience, having served in COO and Senior Vice President positions in both hospitals and large health care systems. Dr. Ulrich has also held faculty positions in the School of Nursing and School of Medicine at the University of Texas at Houston and the School of Nursing at UTMB. She has also served as the Associate Editor of Nursing Economic$. Beth began her clinical experience in nephrology nursing in 1972 and worked as the Director of the Texas Kidney Institute at Hermann Hospital. She has served ANNA as Secretary and Vice President for the Southeast Region, and as President of ANNA in 1985-86.
Nephrology Nursing Journal is a refereed clinical and scientific resource that provides current information on a wide variety of subjects to facilitate the practice of professional nephrology nursing. Nephrology Nursing Journal is the official publication of ANNA.
