Job Position and Professional Responsibilities

As Director of Clinical Programs and Research for Satellite Healthcare, Inc. my role entails identification, development, implementation, and evaluation of clinical programs and initiatives to enhance the outcomes for our patients. I also am responsible for all research, both contract and internal, including all regulatory aspects.

Role Qualifications

My volunteer roles in ANNA include the chapter roles of Secretary, President-Elect, President, and Immediate Past President. On the National level I have served as Western Region Health Policy Advisor, Health Policy Committee Chairperson, and Western Region Chapters Coordinator-Elect/Chapters Coordinator and represented the All Region Executive Committee (AREC) on the Leadership Development Committee. In my current role as Western Region Vice President/Director I have been instrumental in the restructuring of the Peritoneal SPN to the Home Therapies SPN. As a member of several Nurse Advisory Boards, I have connected and come to recognize the needs of nurses in the clinical setting. Representing ANNA on the current CMS Anemia Technical Expert Panel, I presented and supported the nurse’s role in anemia management.

Role in ANNA projects/activities illustrating support of ANNA’s mission, goals, and objectives

  • Our members voiced the need for a more comprehensive volunteer orientation and support system. As part of the Strategic Planning session I voiced the memberships concerns and worked to incorporate those concerns in the Road to Success initiative, which offers evaluation of volunteers’ skills and education to meet any deficiencies identified.
  • In order to advance the utilization of evidence-based practice I have presented and publicized research and quality projects.
  • I have advocated for nursing education and quality measures by relating the role of the nurse in CKD care with our legislators representing our membership and our patients’ needs.
