ANNA meets with CMS representatives to discuss the progress of the Conditions for Coverage for ESRD Facilities Proposed Rules and to provide additional input about the role of RNs in the delivery of care to ESRD patients

On September 14, 2006, ANNA representatives met with officials from the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) to discuss the progress of the Conditions for Coverage for ESRD Facilities Proposed Rules and to provide additional input about the role of RNs in the delivery of care to ESRD patients. ANNA Past Presidents Susie VanBuskirk and Lesley Dinwiddie, ANNA President-Elect Sandy Bodin, and Charlotte Thomas-Hawkins from the Rutgers University School of Nursing represented ANNA.CMS participants included Barry Straube, MD, Chief Medical Officer and Director of the Office of Clinical Standards and Quality as well as staff from the Clinical Standards, Quality Improvement and Survey and Certifications Groups.
