Letter from Kidney Care Partners to CMS Regarding CMS-1768-P: ESRD PPS, Payment for Renal Dialysis Services Furnished to Individuals with AKI, ESRD QIP, and ETC Model; Focus on ESRD PPS, Part 2

The Kidney Care Partners (KCP) provides comments to the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) regarding CMS-1768-P: End-Stage Renal Disease (ESRD) Prospective Payment System (PPS), Payment for Renal Dialysis Services Furnished to Individuals with Acute Kidney Injury (AKI), ESRD Quality Incentive Program (QIP), and ESRD Treatment Choices Model (ETC). This letter is the second of two that focuses on the ESRD CY 2022 ESRD PPS proposals regarding the following:

• The outlier policy generally, as well as the proposed methodology for calculating the fixed-dollar loss amounts for adult patients;
• The TPNIES offset;
• The proposed changes to the functional category definitions; and
• The Requests for Information (RFIs) related to health equity issues for adults and pediatric individuals with kidney disease.
