ANNA Joins Initiative to Enhance Infection Control Education for Nurses

ANNA is partnering with the American Nurses Association (ANA) and the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) to train nurses in infection prevention and control. The goal of this partnership is to provide real-time, tailored infection control training to nurses and improve infection prevention and control practices known to be effective in prevention exposure to emerging infectious diseases.

As part of the Nursing Infection Control Education Network, ANNA will offer two educational sessions on April 17, 2018, during the ANNA National Symposium in Las Vegas:

  • Making Dialysis Safer for Patients: 101 ~ Review essential infection prevention elements used to make dialysis safer for patients.
  • ABCs of Staff Infection Control Education and Competency Development from Assessment to Simulation ~ Experience practical infection control education and learning methodologies using a variety of teaching techniques and simulation to perform catheter care/connection/disconnection, AVF/AVG access, patient role/advocacy, and CDC audit tool use.
