Call for Proposals, Abstracts for 2019 ANNA National Symposium

The 2019 ANNA National Symposium will be held April 14-17 at the Hilton Anatole in Dallas, TX. The 2019 symposium will mark ANNA’s 50th anniversary! The Conferences Committee invites you to share your expertise, research, or clinically based findings by submitting a proposal (60-75 minute presentation) or abstract (15 minute verbal presentation or poster presentation). Registered Nurse - Transplant Coordinator

In the Transplant Coordinator position, the Registered Nurse coordinates all aspects of renal and pancreas transplants, as well as providing support to the department in the day to day functioning of the transplant section.

The Registered Nurse serves as the case manager, following all patients from initial referral, through the transplant process, and during the transition back to the referring physician.

Registered Nurse (RN) - Donor Transplant Coordinator

Virginia Mason is seeking a Registered Nurse for our Living Donor Transplant Coordinator position. As the living donor coordinator, the Registered Nurse oversees the coordination of care for living donors, starting at the initial intake, through the evaluation process, surgery, and follow-up care. The living donor coordinator supports the transplant team by educating prospective donors about the living donation process. Coordinators also help care for donors throughout the donation process.


March Is National Kidney Month

March is National Kidney Month, and March 8 is World Kidney Day. Both events are intended to raise awareness of the importance of our kidneys to overall health and to reduce the frequency and impact of kidney disease. The theme of World Kidney Day 2018 is “Kidneys & Women’s Health: Include, Value, Empower.” This year, World Kidney Day and International Women’s Day coincide, creating an opportunity to emphasize the importance of women’s health and specifically, their kidney health.


Updated Nephrology Specialty CNE Packages Now Available in Online Library

The ANNA Online Library offers continuing nursing education (CNE) bundles designed for nurses practicing in nephrology specialty areas. Each bundle features an assortment of educational content from ANNA National Symposia, fall conferences, and the Nephrology Nursing Journal and includes at least 6.0 contact hours.
