Nursing Community Brochure Highlights Importance of Federal Funding for Nursing Workforce Development Programs

The Nursing Community coalition includes 63 national nursing organizations that are the cross section of education, practice, research, and regulation within the profession. The Nursing Community is committed to improving the health and health care of our nation by collaborating to support the education and practice of Registered Nurses (RNs) and Advanced Practice Registered Nurses (APRNs).

The Nursing Community has created a brochure – Nursing Workforce & Research: Transforming Health & Health Care – highlighting the importance of federal funding for the Nursing Workforce Development Programs (Title VIII of the Public Health Service Act [42 U.S.C. 296 et seq.]). For over 50 years, the Nursing Workforce Development Programs have helped meet the nation’s demand for nursing services. These programs address all aspects of nursing education, practice, recruitment, and retention – focusing on meeting the needs of rural and underserved communities.
