Call for Editor
New ANNA Clinical Resource: Acute and Advanced Nephrology Care
The American Nephrology Nurses Association (ANNA) is seeking an experienced and visionary Editor to lead the development of a new, comprehensive clinical publication. The Editor plays a key role in orchestrating the content of the publication and is essential to the success of the publication.
This resource will integrate and modernize content from the following foundational ANNA publications:
- Acute Care Manual (4 modules)
- Nephrology Nursing Process of Care: Apheresis & Therapeutic Plasma Exchange
- Nephrology Nursing Process of Care: Continuous Renal Replacement Therapy (CRRT) (2011)
Purpose of the Publication
This new work will serve as a current, evidence-based, clinically practical resource for nephrology nurses and advanced practice providers managing patients across acute and high-acuity settings.
The publication will reflect:
- Advances in acute kidney injury (AKI) management
- Evolving continuous kidney replacement therapy (CKRT) technologies and protocols
- Expanded use of apheresis and therapeutic plasma exchange (TPE)
- Integration of interprofessional and value-based care models
- Updated patient safety, quality, and competency standards
Requirements
1. Is an active member of ANNA in good standing.
2. Upholds and supports ANNA’s structure, mission, and vision.
3. Willingness to devote necessary time to working on the publication.
4. Strong organizational and communication skills.
5. Ability to meet deadlines.
6. Knowledge of experts in field; professional visibility.
7. Knowledge and clinical expertise in nephrology nursing preferred.
8. Awareness of the publication process.
10. Manuscript review experience and knowledge of peer-review process.
11. Prior editorial experience is preferred.
12. Ability to participate in regular planning calls (remote via Zoom or Teams) with editorial staff, authors, and manuscript reviewers.
13. Knowledge of APA format (based on the APA Style Guide, 7th Edition).
14. Knowledge of current KDIGO nephrology nomenclature.
