Share Your Story. Strengthen Our Voice.

Federal policy changes and proposed funding cuts are already disrupting kidney care—and we know the impact is being felt across the nephrology community. From staff reductions at key agencies to threats to Medicaid and safety-net programs, these shifts affect not just patients, but also the professionals who care for them. ANNA is calling on nephrology nurses, caregivers, patients, educators, and advocates to share their personal stories. Your experiences help us show policymakers what’s truly at stake and give voice to the real challenges facing our community. Stories may be submitted anonymously, and you can choose how your story is used. Every voice matters—especially now.

ANNA Bylaws & Constitution Updates – March 2025

As part of the 2024-2025 Board of Directors (BOD) Orientation, governance education was provided by ANNA’s General Counsel whose specialty is nonprofit associations. In review of ANNA’s Constitution and Bylaws it was identified that there were several opportunities to clarify and strengthen the bylaws to protect ANNA and volunteers.

In July 2024, the membership was notified about a vote to update the Bylaws to enable revisions of the bylaws either by vote of membership or by BOD vote. This change in bylaws was approved by the membership in August 2024.

Beginning in September 2024, the BOD worked diligently with ANNA’s General Counsel to review each section of the bylaws to ensure that ANNA’s bylaws are clear and consistent with the current best practices for non-profit associations. On March 13, 2025, the BOD approved the final updates to ANNA’s Bylaws and Constitution which are summarized in the table below. Although these revisions have little impact on processes for ANNA’s members, these revisions are important to protect ANNA’s volunteer leaders and the association in years to come.
