| Improving Patient Outcomes: Ozempic Now FDA-Approved for Kidney Disease The FDA has approved Novo Nordisk’s Ozempic (semaglutide) to treat chronic kidney disease (CKD) in adults with type 2 diabetes, expanding its role beyond glycemic control. CKD affects over 35 million U.S. adults, with diabetes being a leading cause. Clinical trials demonstrated that Ozempic reduced the risk of death in patients with diabetes-related kidney disease, leading to an early trial stoppage due to significant benefits. | Honor the Legacy of Nephrology Nurses This invitation is extended to all ANNA members, encouraging them to contribute their cherished memories of a departed fellow ANNA member. These individuals’ names will be honored in a commemorative book titled “The Nightingale Tribute for Nephrology Nurses.” This heartfelt tradition commenced at the April 2024 National Symposium in Orlando and will be upheld at subsequent National Symposia.
