Jan says new nephrology nurses should “Develop a habit of growth and learning. Because jobs get hard, as well as your life, but a professional, physical, and spiritual routine helps you to transcend the ordinary and enable you to make the right decisions during the rocky periods. Have a goal but also have a model. The path you are trying to carve for yourself has been threaded once before. Success is not a one-time measure; it will change according to your needs and priorities. Finally, you are the best friend you can have for yourself, so be kind to yourself and allow yourself the grace to live through the difficult times.”
